Snowbound Photos
For those who live other places thought you might like to see what it looks like when we get 3 feet of snow in the Rockies! Better have a good supply of firewood or alternate heat, food and water stashed, and hunker down.
Our doggies love it – they went out with me to shovel paths through hip deep snow. It took snowshoes just to get around… We’ve figured out 11 month old Daisey is a Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees mix. She adores the snow!!!
Here’s the dome greenhouse we put up this fall covered with snow – and yet it’s warm inside with lots of organic greens and herbs growing. It is kept warm only by a big water tank that helps keep ambient temperature and being partly underground. Will have a video soon on these wonderful dome greenhouses!
So days like this start out with a superfood shake for energy. We have a new green superfood powder
can’t wait to tell you about – video coming soon! Friends have been calling when sick. We wouldn’t go through winter without a big pot of
Super Immunity soup on the stove. My very FAVORITE recipe from the ebook is Mom’s Barley Soup. Did you know that in the 1918 flu epidemic that caused 50 million deaths worldwide, one of the most successful treatments was by a lady homeopath, who besides using remedies had all her patients drink barley broth. Barley is rich in beta glucans which offer prime support to the immune system. Started a pot of “Mom’s Barley” this morning, simmering away, had to have a bowl when we
came in.
